THE JOURNAL · EDITORIAL POLICY

Useful ideas.
Clear responsibility.

This journal explains practical decisions behind a website or application. Here is who writes it, how sources are used and how to report a correction.

One named author

Benoit Rivaux is responsible for the articles and the services described on this website. The journal reflects an independent developer’s perspective. It is also part of a commercial website offering web development services. Read about Benoit and his projects.

Practical explanations, traceable sources

Technical articles link to relevant documentation and further reading. Prefer the original documentation for version-specific implementation details. Estimates and recommendations depend on the project’s scope, existing systems and the date of the advice. Examples illustrate a decision; they are not a promise of business results.

Dates and language editions

Every article displays its publication date and author. English and French editions share a permanent article URL within their respective language sections. Drafts and future releases remain outside public pages, feeds and the sitemap until their release time. Material revisions keep the original publication date and update the modification date.

Report an error or an outdated detail

Send the article URL, the relevant passage and a supporting source. Confirmed substantive corrections are recorded on the article. Older versions are retained privately for editorial review. Contact Benoit.

Performance and search visibility

Pages use server-rendered HTML, compressed images and structured data that describe their visible content. These foundations help platforms understand a page. Search engines decide indexing, positions and which sources appear in their answers; no ranking or citation is guaranteed.
